Tracking your baby’s sleep will give you the advantage of learning your baby’s sleep patterns, routines and sleepy cues. You can use the tracker as a guide for how long your baby tends to be awake and how long they tend to nap which then helps you to plan out your day! Tracking can also give you insight into your baby’s development, such as when they're ready to drop a nap!
To use Predictive Sleep, parents simply need to put the Dream Sock on their baby before their nap, and then return the Sock to the Base Station once Baby wakes up. If a parent forgets to put the Sock on before Baby goes to sleep, they can also manually input their nap time in the app. Once a nap is logged or the Sock is returned to the Base Station, Predictive Sleep will display Baby's next bedtime on the home screen of the Dream App.
Predictive Sleep Technology looks at your baby's age, time slept in the prior nap, and time since their last nap to calculate the best wake window for them. It automatically changes its calculations as Baby grows and their ideal sleep needs change.
Dream Sock
Dream Sock uses advanced sensors to monitor your baby's pulse rate, oxygen saturation level, and sleep patterns, and sends this data to the connected Owlet Dream App for real-time updates.
Clean your fabric sock, and spot-clean its sensor every two weeks. This helps you avoid irritation to your little one's skin. What causes skin irritation? The three causes of skin irritation beneath the sensor include:
- A buildup of dirt, oils, and bacteria from not cleaning the sensor.
- Using a soap that is drying, irritating, or too harsh for baby's sensitive skin.
- Not removing all the soap from the sensor after cleaning.
The Owlet Dream Sock includes two sizes of fabric socks to ensure a snug and secure fit for babies between 5-30 lbs / 2.5-13.6 kg.
Our Predictive Sleep Technology utilises neuro-protective sleep science and behavioural sleep intervention practices, also leveraging the sleep-wake homeostasis. The sleep-wake homeostat is driven by a sleep hormone that builds pressure until it reaches a tipping point, which causes sleep. This builds throughout the day, but for infants and children it builds more frequently and a daytime nap, or naps are required. These naps can be 20 minutes to 3 hours long depending on the sleep your baby feels they need, the amount of sleep they previously had, how long they have been awake, age and their developmental stage.
When the Base Station is powered off, a monitoring session will begin automatically after 20 minutes if 4 minutes of consecutive readings are detected, allowing for sleepy moments when the Base Station is forgotten about.
OwletTM Dream App supports multiple child profiles and Owlet devices to allow you to monitor multiple children. Be sure to keep your Socks with Sensors and their assigned Base Stations separated by child to ensure there is no confusion in the event of a notification.
The maximum distance between the Sock and the Base Station is 30 meters.
Absolutely. Dream SockTM is medically-certified for healthy babies between 0-18 months, 5-30 lbs / 5-13.6 kg, and is designed with your baby's comfort in mind.
Yes, the connected Owlet Dream App allows you to monitor your baby's sleep from any location with an internet connection.
Unlike traditional monitors, Owlet Dream Sock provides detailed health metrics, is medically-certified, and focuses on both safety and comfort.
The Sensor has up to a 16-hour battery life (when new) and uses convenient drop-and-go charging for an 8-hour charge in just 20 minutes and a full 16-hour charge in only 90 minutes. It is recommended to charge the Sensor at least once a day when Dream Sock is being used.
The Backup Battery Base Station can provide up to 10 minutes of backup power in the case of power interruption. A yellow medium priority alarm will occur when power is removed (unit is unplugged). Simply tap the Base Station to pause the alarm, move it to the new location, and restore power.

Yes, if your Base Station is glowing green, the Dream Sock is tracking your baby's oxygen level and pulse rate and will notify you when the readings leave pre-set ranges, even if your Owlet Dream App or Wi-Fi are down.

A Sleep Quality Indicator is a measurable statistic that lends insights into how well your Baby is sleeping. With the Dream Sock, we track heart rate, average oxygen level, noise, wakings, room temperature, humidity, and movement to determine if Baby is getting quality sleep. Our proprietary algorithm gets to know your baby by tracking your baby’s Sleep Quality Indicators to learn your baby’s sleep baseline. If your baby’s sleep indicators differ from the expected baseline, you will receive a “Sleep Assist Prompt" on your Base Station and in the Dream App letting you know the baby may be uncomfortable or need help getting back to sleep.
Sleep History and Sleep Indicators are tied to each Base Station and Sock, so it is important to not switch between different Sock sensors.
Consider labeling which Sock and Base Station goes with each child.
To help you keep track of your Socks and Base Stations, the Base will blink orange if the Sock is placed onto a Base Station it’s not paired to. It will, however, still charge the Sock even though it’s not pulsing white like normal.
- Unplug the base station and remove the sock.
- Press and hold the base station button while you plug the base station back in. Keep pressing the button until you hear the base station chirp 4 times. The light ring will change to blinking orange.
- Release pressure after the first chip is heard.
- Quickly press the base station button once (1). The base station will chirp once (1) in return.
- It is important to click the button while the ring is blinking orange, otherwise, the sock will not properly turn off.
- If successful, the Sock light on the bottom of the base station will not be illuminated and the sensor light on the sock will turn off. The base station will then turn off completely.
- To turn the Sock back on place the sensor into the Base Station charging port.
You will receive a Health Notification when your baby’s pulse rate falls below 50 beats per minute, exceeds 220 beats per minute, or when your baby’s oxygen saturation level is below 80%.
The preset ranges for Dream Sock notifications consider the common conditions possible across the intended user range and the appropriateness of the parameters to minimise nuisance notifications. These parameters have been validated through clinical studies which evaluated the prevalence of clinically actionable notifications. If you have concerns about your infant’s readings, even if they do not approach the set notification limits, please discuss them with your healthcare provider.
Dream Sock is safe and accurate when using as intended. Achieving this medical clearance means Dream Sock was clinically tested and evaluated for oxygen saturation (SpO2) accuracy across all skin tones (Type I-VI on the Fitzpatrick scale) under motion and non-motion conditions. Dream Sock has been demonstrated to be accurate within +/- 3% of gold-standard arterial blood gas measurements.
Dream Sight
The Two-Way Talk feature allows you to communicate with Baby through the Dream Sight camera. Talk to and soothe your baby from anywhere!
The Dream Sight's angle cannot be adjusted in the app, but you can manually change the position of the Dream Sight whether it's mounted on the wall or sitting on a shelf.
The Dream Sight auto-adjusts to allow you to see your baby in the night with high-quality night vision. Check on your baby during the night without losing video quality or clarity.
Video clips are accessible for 18 hours in the Owlet Dream App. From there, clips can be saved to your device and shared with loved ones. Please note that after 7 days, clips are automatically deleted and cannot be recovered.
Background audio allows you to look at other apps or lock your phone and still hear audio from your baby's room in the background.
Cry detection is Owlet's first smart notification, specifically letting you know when baby is crying, versus any other sound that may occur in baby's room. By differentiating between "sounds" and "cries," Dream Sight helps parents understand if baby is simply a little fussy, or may need assistance getting back to sleep. Just like adults, babies don't typically resort to crying immediately. By notifying parents about the different types of sounds in the room, Dream Sight helps parents understand if baby is extremely uncomfortable or just making typical baby sounds. All notifications from the Dream Sight have settings that allow you to adjust them to your individual preferences. If you're getting too many notifications (or not enough) based on your babys noise activity, you can adjust the sensitivity level to specifically match your familys needs.
Dream Sight users who don't have a Dream Sock Baby ,onitor can tap into the new Predictive Sleep Technology by manually adding in sleep sessions into the Dream App. From there, the Dream App will let parents know when the next optimal sleep window will be for Baby.
Your Dream Sight is connected to your private Wi-Fi network so only those you choose can stream footage from your monitor.
The new Dream Sight camera offers new features to enhance your experience, including:
- Streams crisp 2K HD video with night vision for around-the-clock monitoring
- Compatible with 2.24GHz, 5GHz, and dual-band routers for more reliable streaming
