The Owlet Smart Sock is NICU nurse approved!
As a career Neonatal Intensive Care RN, I have seen how beneficial oxygen and heart rate monitors can be for little ones. Consequently, I knew with my type A NICU nurse personality, an Owlet Smart Sock would give me more peace of mind when my rainbow baby was born. The Smart Sock has been worth every penny! I delivered at 37 weeks so my girl was on the tiny side at 5 lbs 12 oz. I did have some fit issues at first because her feet were so tiny, but we got it figured out! If you are like me and read reviews constantly, you have probably seen some comments about false notifications and start to worry. I'm here to tell you that even NICU monitors give false alarms sometimes! But just as with my NICU babies, if I get a notification, I'm going to immediately assess the baby! I would rather be woken up unnecessarily to check on my baby and make sure she is okay than to not know to check on her when she needs me. Being diagnosed with postpartum anxiety, the Owlet Smart Sock has given me more peace of mind and helped me sleep at night.
Also, the sleep tracking feature is great and allows me to know exactly how much sleep she is getting and the quality. I have used the sleep data to make changes to her nap and bedtime schedule as needed, and the Smart Sock allows me to track the progress of those changes. All of this to say, the Owlet is NICU nurse approved!
